For the third year in a row, CDH made a strong showing at the UCLA Relay for Life sponsored by the American Cancer Society. As part of "Team Tech", five CDH staff members, a CDH spouse, and three staff from other UCLA IT units raised a combined $1,155 and walked 13 of 24 hours during the event, which was held at UCLA's Drake Stadium from noon on Saturday, April 18th to noon Sunday, April 19th. This was the 25th anniversary of the event at UCLA, whose goal is to raise money for cancer research. If you are interested in donating for Team Tech, you still can do so by going  HERE .

Walking legs of this tag team walk-a-thon style fundraiser were Branden Bio (CDH), Robert Cargill (CDH), Lisa Kemp Jones (Library IT), Rebecca Powers (CDH) and her husband, Jackie Reynolds (AIS), Terry Ryan (UCLA Library Emeritus), Annelie Rugg (CDH and Team Tech captain), and Jon Tancinco (CDH).

CDH's participation in Relay for Life is the brainchild of former DTA Frank Lee, now teaching in a local secondary school. Says Annelie: "It's a great way for CDH staff to support a good cause, either with their feet or their pocketbooks, or both. We plan to do it again next year, hopefully with more friends from other IT units joining up."  For more information about the UCLA Relay for Life, click here .
