CDH
maintains a Help Desk to provide Humanities computer users with
a central contact point for assistance, services and information
requests.
Our
Help Desk Coordinator will troubleshoot your computing problems
via phone or email, schedule consultations, and endeavor to assist
you with general computing matters Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm.
To
request assistance, call the Help Desk at (310) 206-1414 or send
electronic mail requests to cdh@humnet.ucla.edu.
Walk-in
help is available Monday-Friday from 10:00am-4:00pm.
As
a rule of thumb, you should call the Help Desk for any computing
emergencies or problems needing immediate resolution, or to schedule
or cancel appointments. Send us e-mail for problems you have that
are not immediately pressing.
When
you request assistance, it will help us if you have the following
information ready:
- Computer
or Printer Type;
- Operating
System [e.g., Windows 98] or System Software [e.g., Macintosh
System 9.0.4] version number;
- application
name and version number [e.g., Microsoft Word 2000].
